TIME TO STEP UP

Tootsies. Pedal pushers. Little piggies? Just some terms we use to refer to a part of our body that we seldom pay attention to, until it starts hurting or until we have to show them off during the summer. Did you know that a quarter of our body’s bones are found in our feet? Did you also know that feet are the most ticklish part of the body? The business of feet has actually been in existence for far longer that we can imagine. The oldest pair of shoes in fact were thought to be about 5,500 years old, older than the Egyptian pyramids and Stonehenge. And did you know that you can use the big toe to replace the thumb and nobody will probably notice the difference? This was first done in 1897 in what is now known as a thumb-to-toe transfer. And what do we call the ex-big toe that is now the thumb? The “thoe.”  LOL.

Your feet are pretty awesome and they can do a lot of incredible things. Walking you to places, bearing your weight.  Some people even paint with them, write with them and play golf with them.

So give your feet some TLC. Take a ‘step’ in the right direction and come visit us at Country Foot Care at 155 Mineola Blvd. Or call us at 516-741-3338 for an appointment. Your feet will be in good thoes.. err… hands.
