answerLaser nail treatment effectiveness depends on how severe your infection is and how soon you’re treated, but yes, you will need more than one round with the laser. Typically we administer three treatments with the PinPointe laser spaced across several months to completely eradicate the pathogen. You can expect the therapy roughly every four months until the nails have regrown healthily. Severe cases that have become chronic, however, may require more follow-up sessions. The laser doesn’t prevent reinfection, either. So if your footwear or other sources reintroduce the fungus to your toenails, you’ll need to undergo treatment again.

Fortunately, the procedure is virtually painless and has no recovery period. You can arrive at our office, take care of your nails, and leave immediately afterward to continue your day and activities. If you’re struggling at all with a fungal nail infection, this is one of the most effective ways to address the condition and allow new, healthy tissue to regrow quickly.
